"What is a Prime Lens? And Why You Should Use It"



• a prime lens is basically a lens with a fixed focal length
• it cannot zoom
• since its focal length is fixed, it uses a wider aperture
• a wider aperture allows more light to flow in
• allows a great range of focal distance
• you are able to work at faster shutter speeds
• it is made out of fewer internal parts
• it solves camera shake issues
• framing can help create better pictures
• the results can come with crisp and sharper images
• a prime lens creates a better depth of field control
• the frame is always fixed and you have to manually find the objects you want in the frame
• a basic prime lens is not drastically expensive
