Photo Essay 2: Any Picture





This picture was taken on November 02, 2012. It was taken on a D3100 with a fisheye lens. I chose this photo because it was the first picture I've ever taken with this type of lens. I also really liked how it mainly focused on the group of flowers on the front and the magenta color on the flowers are really vivid. With the fisheye lens, it also made it look really zoomed in. It gave extra emphasis to the group of flowers in the middle and made it seem like there were rows of more flowers beyond them when there really wasn't. 



Photo Essay 4: Inanimate Objects

This is a sign that gives direction to an accessible route for handycap people. It is an inanimate object. The sign has no personality or life. I chose this picture because a sign has no other purpose but to direct, inform or convince. This may be the most boring picture to do a photo essay on but a majority of inanimate objects are boring as they do not talk or show any form of emotion with the exception of flowers and other inanimate objects that offers a person some sort of feeling. This sign, however, gives no emotion and is mainly to direct.

FLASH

• flash is also artificial light
• the major purpose of the flash is to illuminate a dark scene
• earlier flashes contained a mixture of magnesium powder and potassium chlorate
• the earliest flashes were powered by hand
• the flash lamps were replaced by flash bulbs
• flashbulbs took longer to reach full brightness
• a multi flash camera implements multiple flashes
• flash can be used as a main light source
• fill flash is used to supplement ambient light to illuminate something close to the camera
• bounce flash is a similar technique when flash is directed to a reflective surface
• flash can also be a bad thing as it will give off a harsh light
• flash also causes red eye effect
